Growing up, I always loved making things with my hands and helping Dad renovate our house at the time, But Building was never on my radar. I was more into Drawing and Art. Originally, I was looking at Architecture as I had a passion for design. I did work experience in grade 10 for a building company, my brother was doing an apprenticeship through. There I got some great advise from one of the foreman’s, who recommended I do my building apprenticeship first to get some practical experience and learn how to build before telling people how to build.
I think it’s how much we focus on communication. We give clients regular, honest updates, so they’re never left wondering what’s happening. It takes the stress out of the process for them and builds a lot of trust.
when I’m not at work, I’m trying to get away in the caravan with my kids and partner.
